How To Clean A Glass Stove Top🍳

Today, we're giving you an in-depth, step-by-step guide for cleaning and maintaining your glass stove top! We discuss considerations you should take before cleaning your glass stovetop, ALL the materials you will need, how often you should clean it, and more!!🤩

Without further ado, let's dive right in!⬇️

Please Keep In Mind‼️...

Before we get in to the actual "cleaning" of the glass stovetop, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure you do not damage the surface or create a hazardous situation!!⚠️

Wait For Stovetop To Cool🧊

I know this sounds obvious, but it is very important!! Before you start cleaning, always make sure that the glass stovetop has completely cooled down. If you try to clean a hot stovetop, the cleaner can evaporate too quickly and leave streaks or stains behind. Not to mention, you could burn yourself if it's too hot🔥

Choose The Right Cleaner🫧

It is crucial to choose the correct cleaner for your glass stovetop!!✅ You want to avoid using abrasive cleaners (scouring pads, steel wool, etc.) as these can scratch the surface!🪨 Instead, opt for a cleaner specifically designed for glass stovetops! I ALWAYS use microfiber cloths; as they are soft, absorbent, and don't leave streaks!

We will discuss products more in depth in the next section⬇️

Be Gentle🫶

When cleaning your glass stovetop, always be gentle and take your time!⏱️ Use a circular motion to clean the surface, and don't scrub too hard!!🧽

Avoid Excess Moisture💧

Too much moisture can damage a glass stovetop!!🫠 When cleaning, remember to use a minimal amount of cleaner and a barely damp cloth to clean the surface. And always wipe up any excess moisture with a dry cloth - don't let it just sit there!❌

By following these considerations, you can safely and effectively clean your glass stovetop without causing any damage or hazards to yourself or home. 🥰

Materials I Recommend Using!!🤩

I linked each of the products so you can go straight to them, if you would like to purchase!⬇️

And finally, for the fun part: How To Clean Your Glass Stove Top⬇️😉

1.Remove any visible debris: food chunks, crumbs, dust, etc. 🌮 I typically use a handheld vacuum for this, OR I wipe it all onto the ground and then vacuum it all up from there!😅

2. Next, you can either use a multipurpose cleaner OR you can mix together warm water and dish soap.🚰 Whichever solution you choose, you are then going to wipe down the stove top with your damp cloth to get off all the gunk and stuck-on food!🥴

3. If there are any stubborn stuck-on food chunks remaining after wiping everything down; try to carefully scrape them off with a razor blade!🪒 Be especially mindful not to scratch the stovetop. I, personally, like the blade that comes with the Weiman Glass Cooktop Cleaning Kit that I mentioned above!

4. After the stove has been thoroughly wiped down and no visible debris remains, now we apply the specific cleaner/polish! Using the Weiman Glass Cooktop Cleaner & Polisher, I apply it to the surface and spread it evenly with a paper towel or soft cloth. Ensure you cover the entire surface, but don't rub it in just yet. 🧽

5. Let the product sit for 15-30 minutes, depending on level of grime.⏲️

6. Now, I use a damp, soft brush, cloth OR sponge to scrub the surface with the polish on it. It is crucial that you are using a soft brush, cloth, or sponge, to ensure you are removing all the stains but not damaging the surface!❌

7. Make sure to wipe away any leftover product and residue with a wet cotton cloth or soft microfiber cloth.🧻 You want to ensure the stove top is completely dry to prevent any wet spots or damage‼️

OPTIONAL: You can add another layer of "polish" the stovetop with a glass cleaner! This adds some extra shine, and leads to a streak-free finish when you use a lint-free microfiber cloth!✨

By following these steps, you can safely and effectively clean your glass stovetop to maintain its appearance and performance; without scratching or damaging the surface!🤩

But How Often Do I Clean It??🤔

Great question!!😉

To maintain a cleaner stovetop, I recommend giving it a quick wipe down with a soft cloth after each use (once it has cooled‼️). This helps to prevent buildup and allows you to go longer between deep cleans!🥰

However, for those who enjoy cooking frequently, aiming to deep clean the stovetop once a week is a good idea.🗓️ It may seem like a huge, daunting task, but you can maximize your time by cleaning other things while the products are sitting on the stovetop!⏲️ This will help to ensure your stovetop stays in top condition and ready for your next cooking adventure.🥳

We hope this helped you master cleaning your glass stove top!!😉 Remember, keeping your stovetop clean not only adds to the aesthetic of your kitchen, but it also helps ensure healthy cooking!!🍳 With these tips, you can keep your glass stovetop looking its best and ready for your next culinary masterpiece.👩‍🍳

Happy Cleaning!✨
